Michelle Cleave
Vocals
She was 17 when her father – also a singer – heard about a casting. She went to the casting and got the part. That’s how it all started. Later Michelle Cleave attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, one of the world’s leading music schools. Here she was one of the few to receive two awards for her diploma.
“My voice is quite similar to Agnetha’s wonderful soprano voice. And I spent a lot of time practising and getting better. When I slip into the role of Agnetha on stage, I just want to do a good job”.
Michelle Cleave is not only enthusiastic about ABBA’s music and the way the two couples worked together, but also about all the 70s stuff – from the whole atmosphere to the fashion and the make-up.
All this remains alive for her with this unmistakable ABBA sound. The decision for her very personal favourite ABBA song, however, is difficult for her:
“Hmmm… S.O.S? Dancing Queen? Chiquitita? There are so many great songs. If I really had to choose, it would probably be The Winner Takes It All. It has so much feeling. And it’s a huge pleasure to perform this song on stage…”
